Never Grow Old

THE BEST ADVICE

I’ve Ever Given Myself …

With a modest caveat.

Yes, there is a fateful conclusion – mortality – we must all answer.

In the interim of Life, we needn’t sell our Soul – or anything else – to darkness for one fatal leap into the mystical Fountain of Youth.

Or, oblige temptation of false Ego as an enabler to vanity.

MAKE A BIG PROMISE

You’re Not Going To Break.

Try this:

“Give It All To Goodness With Everything You’ve Got, Something You Don’t, And A Little More.”

That ought to do it.

Staying young at Heart and Spirit.

PERSPECTIVE MATTERS

If You’re Living For … The Weekend, Next Vacation, Winning The Lottery, A Sunny Day … Only Self …

Time out.

Reboot Your Mindset.

Recalibrate your internal compass.

“Be in the moment.  This very moment.  For no other moment exists.”

Embrace Now …

Love Here.

All there is.

DISTILL YOUR PAST

Don’t Look Back Or Down … It Ages Us.

Leave it exactly where you left it.

Never a smart idea to disturb a sleeping bear.

Chin raised all the way up.

Big eyes.  Wide open, straight ahead.  Don’t blink.

Moments pass in a …

Taste Life.  Swallow.  Lick your lips.

Insatiable for Life.

YOU’VE BEEN THERE BEFORE

No Going Back To The Past.

Done that.

Its way over.

Kaput, sugar.

SPOILER ALERT: REALTY CHECK

The Past Doesn’t Exist …

Or does it?

One for Existentialism … I think?

It never did except in your mind.  Scratch that.  It never did except in your mind.

It did exist once upon a time … at the Moment when it was the Now.

Splendid.  Joyful.  Or not.

Poof …

No more.

MOVING ON

Is What We Do.

Precious Moment – By – Precious Moment.

Don’t miss a single one.

“Be truthful, cognizant and indulgent of realty … not a subscriber to the deceit of what doesn’t exist any longer or never did.”

Life progresses with – or without – our participation.

“Better to play the starring role in your life than a bit supporting role in someone else’s blockbuster.”

So, join in.

It’s already started if you haven’t noticed.

FUN FACT CONFESSION

Early Retirement May Be A Gateway To An Early Exit.

Harsh?

Sure.  Truth usually is.

And this gem:

“A study of Shell Oil employees shows that people who retire at age 55 and live to be at least 65 die sooner than people who retire at 65.  After age 65, the early retirees have a 37% higher risk of death than counterparts that retired at 65.

That’s not all.  People who retire at 55 are 89% more likely to die in the 10 years after retirement than those who retire at 65.”

I’m Incapable.

I refuse.

Its a good thing.

And, so should you.
