We Spoke Once

ON A FEBRUARY MORNING

I’d Called To Let Him Know …

It’d taken me several decades to Discover Our Truth.

The Journey was long with pain and costly of heart, I meant no harm, sir.

… He Should Know, We Are Brothers.

HE DIDN’T BELIEVE ME

His Sobs Suggested Otherwise …

Perhaps, the few words I said came as an unwanted revelation we shared a Father.

Memory of His Father forever tainted; a disgraceful burden, innocence lost, was not my intention.

… For He Truly Loved His Dad.

THE OLD MAN

Passed Years Ago … With Honor And Admiration From His Family.

He died guilted and shamed with a Dark Secret …

He’d fathered a couple sons with women he said he loved.

… One His Wife, The Other My Mother.

IT’S OVER NOW

Only This Sad Bastard Remains From The Father Who Wasn’t …

My Brother, My Brother

Whomever You Are?

… Died Yesterday.
