Buddy Up … To Help Fight Hunger

LOOKING TO ADD SOME SPICE

To Your Womance/Sismance Or Bromance This Weekend?

“Tired Of The Same Old, Same Old With Your Bestie For Ev’s?”

But Are Too Shy To Suggest Trying Something New?

I’ve Got Just The Thing.  To Add Some Zing.

GO SHOPPING TOGETHER!

For Groceries – Food – Not Shoes.

You’ve Probably Got Enough Of Either.  If You’re Reading This.  Yes, That’s A Presumption.  This Isn’t:

“You Want To Help And Are Doing Something About It.  It’s How Good Folks Roll, Some Bad One’s, Too.  Heart’s First.  As If Anyone’s Ever Regretted Helping A Soul In Need.”

Anyway, Let Me Know Otherwise.  See What I Can Do To Help You, Help Others.  Change Your Mind With Your Heart.

WHY?

People Are Hungry …

“Homeless.  Broken.  In Need.”

Poverty In Your Neighborhood.

… Or, Not Far From You.

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO

Is Find A Friend – A Real One – No Virtual Facebookies … Hey, Even A Frenemy Will Do.

Make A Grocery List.  Or Not.  You Can Go Wing It Up And Down The Aisles.

“Dry Goods.  Canned Foods.  Non-Perishables.  Health-Smart.  Nutritious.”

At Your Local Supermarket.  Piggly-Wiggly.  Wegmans.  Safeway.  Kroger.  Food Lion.  No Frills.  Walmart.  Costco.  Intermarché.  REWE.  Magnit.  … Wherever The Hell Food Is Sold On This Planet.

WHEN?

Anytime.

“Now Is Best.  Later Today.  At Lunch.”

Tomorrow Also Works

… But Never Comes.

WHERE TO DONATE?

Local Food Bank.  Shelter.  Charity.

“Places Of Worship.  Atheists, Too.  Jusaying: You’re Not Going To Burn In Hell Walking Into A Church, But You Knew That Already.  And, Where Are My Adorable Little Agnostics Hiding?”

Google Hunger: About 271,000,000 Results (0.70 seconds).  Not Porn: About 2,260,000,000 Results (0.28 Seconds).

I’ve Partnered Up With The Daily Bread Food Bank.   Local.  Accessible.

HOW WE DO IT IN 2020

Every Month Around The First Week …

A True Friend And I Partner Up.

“We Mosey Over To A Local Discount Supermarket.  Where The Dollar – Greenback – Buckeroo Goes Further.  And, Launch Into The Aisles With A Shopping Cart, Stocking Up On Beans, Pasta, Rice, Powdered Milk, Baby Food.  Pantry Staples.”

Don’t Forget Our Precious Little Mouths.  Actually, Start There.  If You’ve Never Helped Feed A Child …

THE GOAL IS SIMPLE

It Doesn’t Take Much … To Do A Whole Lot.

“Pledged To Donate A Dollar A Day – $30 A Month – Each.”

The Price Of A Plated Hot Lunch In This City.  A Lunch We Can Easily Both Do Without.  We’re Not Hungry.

… About The Same Cost As 30 Meals At A Food Bank.

A SHORT DRIVE

To The Daily Bread Food Bank …

Back It Up To Loading Dock.  A Friendly Face.  Kindly Man.  Humble Sort, Genuine.  Him, Not Me.  Is There To Greet And Lend A Helping Hand, Unload.  He Says, “Thanks” And Something More.

“In-And-Out In Under A Minute … Like That … It Takes More Time Picking Up A Morning Coffee.”

… Can’t Wait To Go Back.

I’ve come to the point in my life – been here for a bit – beyond wondering and contemplating, to simply doing a little something. It’s not enough. It’s an odd thing … helping, getting involved … one really wants to do more. Blessings, Janet 🙏
